Surrogacy Search
The Search
Each week we reach out to our network of surrogate agencies for their current available surrogates. I review all received profiles before sending them to you, and find I are able to share 10-15% of profiles I receive. This filtering happens because not all clinics and not all intended parents have the same guidelines for surrogates. I try to only send you candidates that would be a good fit for your individual and unique journey. Our criteria is quite narrow, and I aim to only send you candidates that check as many boxes as possible for you.
Review your profiles
Custom Fertility collects profiles and reviews them through our experienced lens. I will send you any candidates that fit the criteria we have discussed. Once a profile is shared with you, it is MOST IMPORTANT to review the profile and respond as quickly as possible. Surrogates are not on hold for you at this stage, and often, great surrogates are matched within 24 - 48 hrs.
If you are interested in a profile, let me know immediately! Custom Fertility can place a hold on the surrogate while you consider the surrogate, take a deeper look at their profile and contemplate any questions that you might have. I welcome questions and want to make sure you feel confident moving forward. There is no fee to place this hold, but it typically lasts only 24-48 hrs.
Often surrogate profiles have basic information, and surrogates are generally happy to tell you know more about them. During this review period, we get contracts from the agency and their cost sheets for you to review. If you are comfortable with the compensation, agency fee, and agency policies, we will send your Dear Surrogate letter for the agency to share with the surrogate. Surrogates are also interviewing intended parents before they commit to a cycle.
Exploring a match
If you like the surrogate and would like to explore a match, I share your clinic information with the agency and they forward your surrogate’s medical records to your clinic contact for your doctor to review. This process can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks based on how busy your clinic is or their process for review. (Some clinics review surrogate profiles immediately as they come in. Others only review profiles once a week when all the doctors at the clinic together look over the records to be sure it's a good fit.)
During this period of medical record review, I don’t continue searching for you. This is a courtesy that I give to the agencies that work with us. They know that when an intended parent is working to match with a surrogate, they are not shopping around and they are serious about matching. If at any point during this process, you change your mind or if the surrogate is not approved by your doctor, we immediately begin our search again.
At this point, I also recommend you allow me to introduce you to the agency while exploring a Surrogate match. You may schedule a virtual meeting or call with our agency contact in order to have a full overview of their agency, policies, and any other questions about the process you have.
Meeting your surrogate
Once the doctor approves of the surrogate, you get to have a virtual meeting with her. Custom Fertility provides a brief introduction between you and the surrogacy agency in order for the agency to facilitate your meeting with the surrogate. Custom Fertility will provide you with guidelines about what questions to ask or not ask during your surrogate meeting.
After meeting the Surrogate
It is only after the virtual meeting that you are expected to give an answer about matching with a surrogate.

Your agency
The agency who represents your Surrogate-to-be has been fully vetted by Custom Fertility. We pride ourselves on knowing and building a relationship with these agencies. Once you are matched, agencies function as a main point of contact for you and your Surrogate. From there, agencies can vary in how they structure fees, processes, when funds are collected, guarantees, and much more. As you search and choose your Surrogate, we will also educate you on the type of agency you are considering matching with, sharing pros and cons and comparisons where known, between your agency and others who are similar.
The contract
Each agency has an agreement you will read and sign in order to match with your Surrogate. Further down the journey, there will be a legal contract created between you and your Surrogate, using a Third Party Fertility Attorney to draft and negotiate the contract. If you don’t have a Third Party Fertility Attorney, we are happy to provide you with some references.
Cost Estimate
Currently the estimates for a surrogacy journey start at $150,000. Agencies vary in the fees they charge, how fees are structured, and what compensations are provided to the Surrogate. At the time you explore a match, I will inquire on your behalf to see fee sheets and any other materials appropriate for you to get to know the agency and their set of business practices.

Once you have successfully transitioned to your new agency and chosen Surrogate, our time is complete.

Package Cost
My search fee is $ 3,300.00. I offer a free consultation before payment to make sure what I offer will fit your needs. During the consultation I will go over and clarify your criteria as well as discuss our process and third party fertility in general. The search can begin within 1-2 days of your payment. I will personally search all the top agencies in the United States to find your surrogate. My goal is for you to be matched at the end of the search.
